David Michael Leath is a Partner with Petrie Leath Larrivee & O’Rourke, LLP. Mr. Leath focuses his practice in the areas of civil litigation, business litigation, business transactions, and insurance coverage matters. He has developed significant expertise in a range of litigation matters, including agricultural crop loss, products liability, construction defects, commercial liability, labor disputes, and vehicle actions. He has taken cases to verdict on behalf of Pest Control Applicators, Commodities Brokers, and Pest Control Manufacturers, to name just a few. He has handled cases involving most every crop grown in California, at all phases of the crops’ life cycle from ground preparation to delivery to consumer sales locations.
Prior to entering private practice, he served as a Deputy District Attorney in Merced, California, where he tried in excess of 30 felony cases. Since entering private practice, he has practiced exclusively within the Agricultural Industry.
Raised in Fresno, Mr. Leath earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1991 and his J.D. from San Joaquin College of Law in 1995. He is admitted to practice law in California as well as before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California. Mr. Leath is a member of the Fresno County Bar Association.
